Special Lecture: VivaHaus

Just as co-working has evolved from an office alternative to the future of the office, how will co-living mature from its current niche into a rapidly scalable urban housing solution for millennials who can’t or won’t pursue traditional home ownership? Dara Huang, founder of Design Haus Liberty, discusses her next venture along the lines: Viva House.

Discussion: MINI LIVING – Big Life.Small Footprint.

The unstoppable rise of co-working has led to “co-living” — micro-housing memberships advertising flexibility and conviviality in lieu of home equity. MINI Living’s Oke Hauser explains why an automaker has embraced co-living and co-work before being joined by WeLive’s Darrick Borowski and Design Haus Liberty’s Dara Huang to explore how co-living represents both the past and future of housing.

Talk: What I’ve Learned with…

Born in China and based in London, Dara Huang will explain how she manages a young firm with offices in New York and Guangzhou, particularly one so engaged with clients in emerging markets.

Tall Buildings 2018

29th May

CPA is pleased to invite you to our annual seminar on the ‘London Tall Buildings Survey’, New London Architecture (NLA) and research partner GL Hearn’s report on the capital’s changing skyline.

Now in its fifth year, the London Tall Buildings Survey provides the only comprehensive review of towers over 20 storeys either proposed, in planning or under construction, providing information to help inform the debate about the changing shape of London.

The seminar will begin with a presentation on the key findings of the report. This will then be followed by a discussion on better planning tools for developers, local authorities and the public in order to measure the impact of tall buildings across the capital.

Cerebral Gyms

13 May

We all know that yoga increases flexibility, weight-lifting strengthens, and mindfulness centers. But the Cerebral Gym, which launches at the House of St Barnabus in Soho on May 13th, is broadening the notion of exercise from strictly physical to intellectual.

From parenting classes to live music, brunch to meditation, Cerebral Gym’s launch will be a taster of what’s to come after its permanent opening next year. There will be a series of speakers including Dara Huang, masterclasses, games rooms, live shows and more over the day, which begins at 11am and ends at 11pm, with ticket holders able to drop in at any time.
